A bit about our Mahnke Auto Body Gunnison’s General Manager

Joel Mahnke has never known a moment when he wasn’t interested in business. Born in Aspen, Colorado and raised in Telluride; Joel tagged along with his dad to work, even if it meant hiding in the van rather than being left behind.

After high school and serving in the Navy, Joel built a very successful career in construction on the Western Slope. It seems to be a Mahnke tradition to start at the bottom and work up. Gary Mahnke’s nephew Joel is no exception. Over the years, he rose to top management of a large construction firm, and then on to operating his own construction company with over forty employees.

Joel embraces many customs of the old west. One of which is to, “Live Each Day with Courage.” Moving from Grand Junction to Denver in 2010 wasn’t easy, and jumping into a brand new career in the collision repair business required a great deal of courage. Joel brought to Mahnke Auto Body a wealth of talent, experience, and skills which he immediately contributed to the company by redesigning and remodeling the newly acquired Brighton shop, and the front offices of Arvada and Golden, while simultaneously moving up the ranks to General Manager of the Golden shop.

In 2010, Joel Mahnke accepted the position of Golden’s General Manager where he served Front Range and Mountain customers from Evergreen to Bailey until the end of September, 2018. On Monday, the first of October, Joel opened the doors to Mahnke Auto Body in Gunnison and stepped into a brand new territory for Mahnke, but a mountain homecoming for Joel. He is proud to bring the most up-to-date collision repair and auto body paint technology to the mountains.
