Refinish Technician Job Description:
The refinish technician performs painting and refinishing of repaired vehicles to Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) factory standards. Maintains high standards for efficiency and observes all safety requirements. Works well both independently and with team members from all departments. Stays up-to-date with company paid I-CAR classes, completes the annual PPG paint recertification, and applies new knowledge to the job.
Refinish Technician Duties and Responsibilities:
● Ability to keep up with high pace production environment
● Ability to color sand and polish as necessary
● Keep up to date on I-CAR and company required certifications and training and meet all deadlines
● Maintain product inventory and track material usage
● Work directly with repair planner to get all necessary procedures on estimate/supplement and address any concerns
● Follow safety guidelines and wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment ( PPE)
● Keep work area clean and cleared of any debris and uphold environmental regulations
● Be willing to answer questions for coworkers, alert of deficiencies in shop and train as necessary
● Be aware of target delivery dates and strive to finish within timeframe
● Adhere to Mahnke’s and Direct Repair Program (DRP) insurance companies’ procedures
Qualifications:
● Automotive refinishing experience
● Strong attention to detail
● Color sand and polish experience a plus
